GEAR’s businesses include:
- Mining of metallurgical coal through its 70% subsidiary Illawarra Coal Holdings Pty Ltd (“ICH”) operating in Australia;
- Mining of metallurgical coal through its 59% subsidiary Stanmore Resources Limited (“Stanmore”) (listed on ASX) operating in Australia;
- Mining of gold through Ravenswood Gold Pty Ltd (“Ravenswood Gold”)(50%) operating in Australia;
- Various investments in renewable energy projects in Asia.
ICH has coal resources estimates of 1.2 billion tonnes, marketable coal reserves estimate of 78 million tonnes and two coal handling preparation plants with capacity of over 13 million ROM tonnes per annum in aggregate.
Stanmore has coal resources estimates of 4.1 billion tonnes, marketable coal reserves estimates of 281 million tonnes and three coal handling preparation plants with capacity of over 21 million ROM tonnes per annum in aggregate.
Ravenswood Gold has 4.8 million ounces of contained gold resources and 2.8 million ounces of contained gold reserves, and gold production capacity of up to 220koz per annum.
